Comet to launch the iPad online tomorrow

Apple iPad online at CometA source at Comet has been able to confirm to Cheapest Apple iPad that they plan to launch the Apple iPad in their online store tomorrow.

Yesterday iPad posters and displays started to go up in selected number of Comet stores and this morning the company confirmed that the iPad was available in a number of stores throughout the UK, the list of which was available on the Comet website.

When asked why they weren’t selling the iPad online Comet were happy to confirm that “We plan to have them available to purchase on our site tomorrow.”

This announcement comes hot on the heels of John Lewis’s iPad launch in store and online in the UK today.

It seems that the end of DSGi’s (PC World and Currys) exclusive deal has opened the floodgates when it comes to Apple iPad resellers. Although it remains to be seen when the improved choice that an iPad fan now has when it comes to picking who they want to buy their iPad from translates in to cheaper prices and price competition between retailers.

Tesco are set to enter the iPad market later this year and Argos have already announced that they will be selling the iPad in September.

Lets hope that all this competition means that there will be come cheaper iPad deals in the market in time for Christmas.
